Manuel Carballo

Manuel Carballo began practicing gymnastics at the age of 6 in Madrid, joining the Spanish team at the age of 14, where he remained until his professional retirement in 2013. During his active period he lived at the Joaquín Blume Residence and he trained at the High Performance Center in Madrid.

In 2005 he was awarded for the first time the individual title of the Spanish Championship of Male Artistic Gymnastics held in Vitoria, ahead of his teammates Isaac Botella and Rafael Martínez. That same year he was proclaimed European champion of parallel bars in the Europeans held in Debrecen (Hungary).

In 2007 he was part of the Spanish team that achieved sixth place in the World Cups in Stuttgart (Germany), thus obtaining the place for the Olympic Games the following year.

He was part of the Spanish gymnastics team for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He participated in the full team competition, finishing 11th.

He continued one more Olympic cycle preparing for the London 2012 Olympic Games, reaching the qualifying pre-Olympic in January, where he was unable to compete due to a knee injury, which relegated him to the substitute position until the Olympics. of that same year.

Manuel Carballo finished his sporting stage at the beginning of 2013 after more than 15 years dedicated to gymnastics. From here began a new stage as a coach and trainer of different sports practices such as CrossFit, a discipline that he currently teaches
