«The traditions of yoga. History and philosophy »

Two classes of 2 hours each

Presentation

Yoga is the spirituality of Hinduism. It was born more than 2,500 years ago in North India, and since then it has gone through many stages and taken many forms until it reached "modern postural yoga", so widespread today throughout the world. In these two sessions we will go through the history of yoga, describing its varieties and diversity of styles and exposing the philosophies on which the practice is based. We will complete the explanation by reading texts, contemplating images and doing illustrative practices of what we have discussed. Notes and a basic bibliography will be given to the students that will allow them to continue delving into the subject.
